Which version of LMMS are you using?amda63650 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 11:51 pmive found the same issue on github https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/5087
I have attempted to delete folders by deleting shortcuts even as Admin, i cant reproduce. The link is from 2019. Could Monospace be right and the version of LMMS play a role?amda63650 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 11:51 pmive found the same issue on github https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/5087

Are you sure that you did target the shortcut and not the actual folder?
I have tried and cant delete the folder by deliberately deleting ONLY the shortcut.
But file-browser inside LMMS should not allow anything else than opening files and folders, that is for sure, and it is marked as a bug! -Not scheduled

And deleting a shortcut removed the actual folder..
If that is so it is bad. I need to make some tests
Thank you for your report.---------------------------------------------
EDIT
We have done all kind of experiments, and deleting any shortcut to any directory, folder ao file, does NOT delete the actual element, only the shortcut.
There is no such bug in LMMS.I have created a video to better explain what is going on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBoYj0xDHbs
yes in this video i dragged the shortcut to a separate location and tried to delete the shortcut (which deletes the folder and not the shortcut), today i even tried it again and i created a folder put stuff in the folder created a shortcut moved the shortcut to another drive entirely and deleted the shortcut with lmms's file browser and it deletes the folder and not the shortcut itself.

odear that is an ancient issue, and i was sure that was fixed in qT, but you have it so it is not, but i cant understand why i cant recreate, and you can do this on both 1.22 and 1.3.. That is ..odd
Unfortunately this bug is a bad one, have you looked in 'Recycle-bin' if the folder is not even send to 'Recycle-bin' but eradicated at once, then this is a critical bug
Please look in 'Recycle-bin' and report back.

there is nothing in my recycle bin i had originally checked my recycle bin and now i have checked again with the test i did today both times it deleted and skipped the recycling bin.
very bad bug! It is already 'fixed', but it is in Nightly.
My recommendation would be to keep your Alpha for production, and update when the new off. is released this spring/ year.. /millennium
(The new fix could be tried with an optional install side by side)
