Online courses about music theory and about LMMS

Write guides and how-tos about LMMS for other members.
Hello,
I am interested in algorithmic composition. Currently I know a little bit about the automated production of the MIDI files and their executing via LMMS. But I would like to improve my skills in the music theory and the sound production essentials. I would be very grateful if someone could recommend me any free online courses about music or about sound production with the LMMS.
Thank you very much.

There are a LOT of portals for Music-theory!
One of the best is 8Notes, but they are also quite theory oriented.
Hello musikbear,
Thank you very much for the reply and for the useful links.
Was still tl;dr so I deleted some more.

There are tons of YouTube videos on music theory. Here's one of those I recommend. This teacher from the UK really knows his stuff, and he knows how to explain it in a clear and friendly sort of way. He covers much of the standard textbook material. He plays the keyboard as he explains.

Here are some useful books.

George Thaddeus Jones, Music Theory.

Gerald Warfield, How to Write Music Manuscript (in Pencil). "A Workbook in the Basics of Music Notation." Very good book. Practical. Lots of material.

Dave Clackett, Handbook of MIDI sequencing. Very useful. Lots of MIDI books dwell on all the technical stuff, like how to connect a widget to a sprocket or whatever. MEGO. But this book is more about how to make your MIDI arrangement sound good.

Roger Brown and Martin Griese, Electronica Dance Music Programming Secrets, 2nd Edition.

Rick Snoman, Dance Music Manual.

Fake books are very useful for the study of popular melodies and chords.

There are so many YouTube videos where people go into details about composing and producing, including on LMMS, that I don't know where to start. There are some videos where well known producers explain in detail how they do it.
Online courses about music theory are so interesting! They make it easy to learn about notes, harmony, and rhythm at your own pace. I would love to develop more in this direction and deepen my understanding of music. Writing song essay also help by showing how to analyze music creatively. Like this I can grow as a musician and enjoy the process!
Does anyone know a good site for checking BPM (beats per minute) for songs? I’ve been trying to find a reliable resource, and I recently found tap bpm https://tapbpm.net/. It’s super easy to use, and it gives accurate results. Has anyone else tried it, or do you know other good options?
