LMMS is getting ready for a whole new sample-library!

Sound designers and LMMS enthusiasts, LMMS is refreshing its library of samples and presets, and is looking for high quality ones made by its users! If you would like to contribute, follow the link to the submission form in our GitHub repository: https://github.com/LMMS/assets. This repository is where the new library lives, together with rules and guidelines for contributing. We're looking forward to reviewing your submissions!

Note: Samples or presets you contribute must be your own original work and licensed under the CC0 license (i.e. dedicated to the public domain). Asset moderators are available to answer questions on Discord.

So now is the time to participate in development of LMMS, if you have made high quality samples, and want to share those with the community!

Are the factory soundfont files present in the LMMS software under CC0 license (public domain)?

By "soundfont", I assume you mean "samples" since we do not bundle any soundfont files.

They're not all legally cleared to be "CC0", which is why we need to make a new collection, but please use the samples in your projects without worrying about distribution restrictions in your newly created works. We'd be happy to discuss details if needed, preferably in a separate thread.
