Hi everyone! I'm hellfire, an aspiring chip/dubstep creator. About 12 years ago I wrote several songs in LSDj on my GameBoy but then stopped due to a lack of creativity and motivation. I'm finally ready to start again and so far I love LMMS. It's simple yet powerful. I can't thank the dev team enough for creating such an amazing piece of software and sharing it for free.

Hopefully I'll produce something new worth sharing some day soon. Glad to be here!
Hello LMMS Forums,

My music handle is Jimmy Johan, and I have some experience with music production. I've played piano since fourth grade and percussion in school bands. My go-to category the past few years has been chiptune covers of exiting songs. For that, I use beepbox

I have also used LMMS in the past for some projects where the chiptune feel was truly inappropriate, so I am not a complete noob. But for this next project, LMMS will be required for sure. I noticed someone posted their intro in the projects channel, and was told to post here, so this is that. I'll post about the project there. I hope this forum can be a tool for me to level up my skills for this next project, and a way to connect with others doing similar things.

My music is on Bandcamp: https://jimmyjohan.bandcamp.com/

And I have a Youtube channel where the music also chills with videos. However, I have a lot of other stuff there besides music. That one is: https://www.youtube.com/@m.edwards8601

Thank you for your time!
Hi my name is totoaussi, I use lmms since many years because lmms is free and available on Linux plateforms (I am a debian user). I use lmms to create sounds and melodies for retro games, especially with TripleOscillator and Nescaline. Thank the creators and contributors for creating the useful lmms, the best on linux plateforms.
Wassup guys? my username is Dr_Green, Since somehow an person added an AI in the LMMS Sharing Platform, i after said: ah naaah, AI is everything possible to add sus SM64 Projects with sus creator names (And probally disliking everyone excepting those projects) 💀, so that's why i am here lol.

I liked LMMS since i saw it has different samples and instruments to make the music, also, it looks like a flash game used this platform for soundtrack, i just noticed in that flash game called "SpeedX", probally you hear the Soundtrack Before, sounds familiar to LMMS instruments, isn't?, probally exist more flash soundtracks made with LMMS.

Of course i have another occupations, but still depressive doing the projects slow lol (just humor).

Greetings.
Hey there! Just wanted to share a bit about myself.

Two years have gone by quickly since using LMMS , I began using a LMMS in 2023.

I make music, or at least I give it a shot, using FT2 and LMMS.

I don't really know much about music.

Making tracker music since 1997 with FT2 and MilkyTracker.

I'm here to share what I make and pick up some tips from everyone else, to learn from others.

My home studio is:

Hi everyone,

I'm thrilled to join the LMMS community! I'm a complete beginner in music production, but I'm eager to learn and dive into this creative journey. My dream is to one day compose music for the video games I hope to develop.

I have a range of interests, including wingfoiling, 3D printing, and coffee roasting (espresso lover here!). Music-wise, I enjoy chiptunes, bossa nova, house, trance, and anything with a juicy bassline. That said, I absolutely despise muddy or mumbly bass.

Looking forward to connecting, learning, and sharing ideas with everyone here. Thanks for having me!
Greetings, Earthlings 👽

A brief(?!) introduction. I live in the UK (but wish I didn't!), and I'm the wrong side of 55 years old. I started listening to electronic music around 30 years ago now. We have a radio show over here called 'The Essential Mix' and I would tune-in every saturday to hear what the guest DJs were playing. It was Paul Oakenfold's 'Goa Mix' that really grabbed my attention, and led to a long love affair with psy-trance and what would now be called, "old school" trance. Last year I started listening to more techno and just recently, electro too.

Soooo, it was this interest in EDM that made me want to have a go at making tracks myself. In 1995, I decided to buy my first synth. I actually wanted a Quasimidi 'Raven' but in the end, had to make do with a Yamaha 'CS1x' 🙁 My next purchase was an Atari 1040st computer. This combined with a hacked copy of Cubase V2 on a floppy disk, was my DAW... many of the top producers at the time were using the same set-up. It was a steep learning curve and I wasn't online back then, so had no access to youtube tutorials e.t.c. I only managed to write one track worthy of release before life went pear-shaped following a death in the family. My hardware set-up has been in storage ever since but I have added a couple of items; a little Yamaha SU10 sampler and an E-MU 'Xtreme Lead' synth module.... nice to have if I'm ever able to create a small studio space.

That brings me up to the here and now; kinda. In 2021, I had a look around on the web to see what options were available for making music. I played around with 'Audiotool' for a while but didn't much like it for writing... some of the sounds were cool though. Next, I tried Beepbox which is used mostly by folks wanting to re-create chiptune melodies like those used in old school computer games. I then moved over to another version of Beepbox known as Jummbox which allowed for tracks of 6+ minutes in length. It was okay I guess, I tried to write some tunes but never felt very inspired as even after tweaking the settings, the sounds and effects were very basic. I heard about and then downloaded LMMS and was blown-away by the standard presets, samples and effects.

So there you go!, fingers-crossed I can realise my dream of making an album with this DAW. Having said that, arranging is a BIG weak point for me; so as well as learning how LMMS works, I also need to work hard on that.

Cheers... 4OTF out
