Help with Carla and LMMS on Windows

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello all, apologies for the trouble but I've been in a bit of a rut and while I've made progress getting these programs to work together, I've hit a wall and I fear I genuinely have no idea where to go from here.

For reference, I've been working with LMMS for a couple of weeks now, and I've done some research into how to get the audio working, the tracks, my plugins, all of that. And I got Carla, and managed to finagle enough of it all together to get Carla running, to get it in LMMS as an instrument, and to get an LV2 and a VST3 running in it. Specifically I'm using the old reliable, the AVL drum kits such as the Red Zeppelin and Black Pearl.

So I have Carla, and it works in LMMS, and I can make a piano roll for it and everything. And in Carla, I can get the drums up, producing sound, and it all works. And as before, LMMS still takes input from my keyboard. The problem is I can't get Carla to produce sound in LMMS, or read my keyboard.

With everything that does work, I assume the problem is something I did wrong, a small setting or an adjustment I didn't make, or as I believe, something I'm doing wrong in the patchbay.

Any help would be appreciated; I'm making a composition for a friend of mine, and I'm so close to being ready but I'm just out of energy and not experienced enough with either of these programs to know what I'm missing.

No for windows do nor use Carla. You need Element by kushview for windows as middlelayer for VST3

Besides that, since you are new in Forum

Well, thank you for the help, but this has just left me with new problems. I couldn't get Carla to produce sound, but it was working, reading my drum plugins and taking input from my keyboard... I just couldn't get it all to work.

I have Element installed now, but it won't read a majority of my .dll files, and I haven't figured out a way to get any of my drum kits to work in it yet and I can't even disconnect from the patchbay in Element's window, inside or outside of LMMS.

Carla is fiddly on windows. That why i said Element for VST3

Of cause not. .dll-filer are VST2
Element is for VST3
VST2 is natively supported by Vestige in LMMS, you do not need either Carla or Element at all
Here is how to use VST2

Drumkits are problematic, and depends on having a controller that starts and stops the kit playing, you then need to automate that controller to make the kit start/stop playing
You’ve made impressive progress with integrating Carla and LMMS, but I understand how frustrating it can be to hit a wall. If Carla isn’t producing sound in LMMS or responding to your keyboard input, it might be a configuration issue within the patchbay or the settings. Ensure that Carla's output is correctly routed to LMMS's audio channels and that the MIDI input from your keyboard is properly mapped to the Carla instrument. Double-check the plugin settings and the audio/MIDI routing in both Carla and LMMS to make sure everything is aligned. Sometimes, it’s helpful to revisit the setup steps or consult the documentation for both programs to spot any missed details.
